Drug Elimination
The process of removing drugs from the body, including both drug excretion and metabolism.
Distribution
The process by which a drug reaches its site of action after entry into systemic circulation.
AUC
Area Under the Curve; represents total drug exposure over time.
Volume of Distribution (Vd)
A pharmacokinetic parameter that describes the distribution of a drug throughout the body's fluids and tissues.
First-Order Kinetics
A type of drug metabolism where the rate of elimination is proportional to the drug concentration.
Zero-Order Kinetics
A type of drug metabolism that occurs at a constant rate, regardless of the concentration.
Half-Life (t1/2)
The time required for the concentration of a drug in the body to reduce by half.
Clearance (CL)
The rate at which a drug is removed from the body, expressed in volume per time.
Bioavailability (F)
The fraction of an administered dose of a drug that reaches the systemic circulation.
Pharmacokinetics (PK)
The study of how drugs move through the body, encompassing absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion.
