The Elected Assembly is composed of representatives chosen by the electorate to make laws and govern, while the Appointed Executive/Legislative Council consists of members appointed by a governor. (assembly gets vetoed easily, and gov could dissolve it too)

What did the Napoleonic War do for Canada?
The Napoleonic Wars stimulated Canada's economy through protectionist trade policies, leading to increased demand for Canadian goods. Britain imposed tariffs and duties on foreign products, which reduced competition and promoted colonial trade. This protectionism helped Canadian industries grow but also meant Canadians paid higher taxes on imported goods, affecting consumers. As a result cities grew and opened new territories.Timber exports increased and our greatest trading partner was our mother country.

Federalism:
a strong central government where most of the powers
rest with the federal government, but smaller powers are shared by the provinces. Centralized federalism is when the federal government controls almost all the powers.
De-centralized federalism:
Some of the power taken away from central government and given to the provincial government. This is what we have presently with some provinces taking powers away from the federal government.
Provincial autonomy:
Provinces getting a little more power from the central …. federal government. This will result in a more de-centralized federalism.

After the purchase of Rupert's Land in 1869 by the Canadiangovernment , the Northwest Territories were admitted into Canada and some of that landwould become future provinces. these territories were the ancestral lands of many of the First Nations....who were displaced by new European immigrants arriving every day and english settlers who were expanding westward.
