Hex Key
Tools used for tightening the 5/64" motor screws and shaft collar set screws and 3/32" for regular screws.
Open-End Wrench
Holds nuts as you turn a screw for tighter connections.
Keps Nut
Used for semi-temporary connections, can loosen on its own.
Base Plate
Flat Plates
Two sizes of metal plates 4 holes wide and typically come in various lengths to be used in structural assemblies.
Angles
Several lengths with 1, 2, 3, and 5 hole varieties
Rails
C-Channel
Wide Channel
Bar
Small Metal Bracket
Angle Gusset
Drive Shaft
Comes in several sizes, used to attach things to motors.
Shaft Collar
Put on drive shafts to stop them or objects on them from slipping.
Set Screw
Screw found inside shaft collars.
Bearing Flat
Allows a drive shaft to spin freely, without bouncing around in the structure hole.
Pillow Block Bearing
Allows a drive shaft to spin freely, without bouncing around in the structure hole.
Lock Bar
Stops a drive shaft from spinning, or makes a object spin with the drive shaft
Spacers
Comes in several sizes, use to provide space between objects
Standoffs
Comes in many sizes, used to give two pieces space from each other. Hole at each end are threaded for screws.
Motor
Provides automated motion to robot
Cam
Used in a cam and follower mechanical system.
Hand Crank
Used in place of motor in simple systems.
12-Tooth Gear
36-Tooth Gear
60-Tooth Gear
84-Tooth Gear
Worm Gear
Used with worm wheel to make worm and wheel mechanical system. Smaller threads than the lead screw.
Worm Wheel
Used in worm and wheel system. Notice black inner hub and tilted teeth.
Bevel Gears
Used in a bevel gear system. 16-Tooth, 24-Tooth and 32-Tooth varieties.
Universal Joint
Allows two axels/shafts at different angles to rotate together.
Vex V5 Brain
Used as the brain of the robot and controls what it does by running your downloaded code
Battery Cable
Connects the V5 robot battery to the V5 robot brain to provide power.
Wheels
Round disks that turn on axles and allow the robot to move.
Motor Cable
Connects the motors and sensors to the V5 Brain.
