Simple Squamous Epithelium; This tissue can be found in the lining of the heart and/or lining of the lung cavity

Simple Cubodial Epithelium and cubed shape; This tissue can be found in the kidney lining; The space in the middle of the tissue is called lumen

What type of tissue is this and what shape? Where can this tissue be found?

Simple Columnar Epithelium and rectangular shaped cells; This tissue can be found in the lining of the stomach.

What type of tissue is this and what shape? Where can this tissue be found? What is the special characterisitc in this tissue and what does it do?

Simple Columnar Ciliated Epithelium and rectangular shape; This tissue can be found in the utereus and/or respiratory track; The special characterisitc is that it has cilia, whi are hair like strucure that helps move the egg out of the female reprofuctive track or dust out of the repiratory track.

Stratified Squamous Epithelium and it has multiple layers of cells; this tissue can be found in the parts of the body that are abrasion, like the vagina or the cheeks; the specilaity of this tissue is that it has a layer of dead cells that protects the living cells in the apical.

Pseudostratified Ciliated Columnar Epithelium and it is a fake looking layer of multiple layers of cells and it is columnar; it can be found in the respiratory track; it has cilia so it had little hair structures which helps secrete mucus; these type of tissues also have Golblet cells which look clear and are found in pockets in between the individual columnar epithelium.

What is the basement membrane?

The basement membrane is a thin sheet of protein that attaches to the basal surface of epithelium to other tissues.

What is apical?

The apical surface of the epithelial tissue faces the body surface or the lumen.

What is basal?

The basal surface is attacked to other tissues via a thin sheet of protein called the basement membrane.

What is lumen?

the cavity or space inside an organ
