When should you White Balance?

Critical Focus

NDF (Neutral Density Filter)
A filter used to reduce the amount of light entering the camera, useful in bright conditions.
Cut-In
A close-up shot of something within the scene.
Cut-Away
A shot that is related to the current scene but shows something else.
B-Roll
Supplemental footage used to support the main shot or narrative.
Rule of Thirds in nature
Line up the horizon with the top or bottom horizontal line.
J-Cut
An editing technique where the audio from the next shot starts before the video cuts to it.
L-Cut
An editing technique where the video cuts to the next shot before the audio starts.
Nat Sound (Natural Sound)
The ambient or natural sound of an environment.
Jump Cut
An abrupt transition between two similar shots, creating a jarring effect.
180 Degree Rule
The practice of keeping the camera on one side of an imaginary line between subjects to maintain consistent spatial relationships.
