What is a Neoplasm?
A new and abnormal growth of tissue, which may be benign or malignant.
Define Oncology.
The branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
What is the difference between Benign and Malignant tumors?
Benign tumors are non-cancerous and do not spread, while malignant tumors are cancerous and can invade nearby tissues.
What does the term Lymphoma refer to?
A type of cancer that originates in the lymphatic system.
What is a Sarcoma?
A type of cancer that originates in connective or supportive tissues such as bone, cartilage, and blood vessels.
Define Leukemia.
A type of cancer that affects blood and bone marrow, causing an overproduction of abnormal white blood cells.
What is Carcinoma?
A type of cancer that begins in the skin or in tissues that line or cover internal organs.
