Producer
Runs the business end of a film project and is responsible for putting the project together; involved in all phases of the filmmaking process from development to completion.
Director
Responsible for making all the creative elements come together; ensures that his/her vision is successfully communicated to the crew.
Writer
Creates and shapes an original story or adapts another source (i.e. a book) for the big screen.
Assistant Director
Helps the director by planning the filming timeline and managing the set, crew, and extras; creates call sheets and prepares the set for filming.
Script Supervisor
Ensures continuity by knowing the script inside and out; manages wardrobe, props, and make-up consistency from shot to shot.
Director of Photography
Helps the director envision the film from script to screen, including shots, lighting, and set design; also serves as the camera operator.
Gaffer
Sets up the lighting on set and works closely with the Director of Photography; head of the electrical department.
Grip
Moves equipment and helps set up lighting according to the gaffer and Director of Photography; includes key grip and dolly grip roles.
Best Boys
Primary assistants to the gaffer and grip.
Editor
Cuts the film images to create a visual story that flows well; collaborates with the director to capture his vision.
Sound Mixer
Responsible for recording dialogue and sound on set; blends musical selections for the film’s soundtrack.
Boom Operator
Positions the microphone to capture clear dialogue while keeping it out of the shot.
Foley Artist
Creates sound effects for the film.
Costume Designer
In charge of costumes/wardrobe to create the right look for characters; ensures continuity in actors' wardrobe.
Make-up Artist
Responsible for hair and make-up to create the right look for characters; must work with different skin types.
Production Assistant
The production’s do-boy; must be hard-working, energetic, and reliable.
Casting Director
Breaks down the script with the director and suggests suitable actors for each role.
Location Scout
Finds suitable locations to shoot in based on the script's requirements.
Still Photographer
Documents the production for publicity, DVD art, and memories.

Indication that the shot is done and it's time for the next one (Assistant Director).

Command to move to the next location (Assistant Director).
