-Evidence was given in a murder appeal that some of the jury used a ouija board to ask the victim it he had been killed by the detendant. The jurv found the defendant quilty. A retrial was ordered when a juror later tolc thé court about the séance, otherwise no one would have known.

-A civil servant was prosecuted for passing secret information to an M.P. about the Falklands War. Jury acquitted him as he claimed he had lone this in the public interest, although the judge had directed them that this was not a defence in law.
