Concise Writing
Expressing ideas precisely and briefly.
Wordiness
Using too many words to express an idea.
Redundancy
Unnecessary repetition of words and phrases.
Tautology
Using different words to repeat the same idea.
Ambiguity
Uncertainty of meaning in a word, phrase, or sentence.
Parallelism
Using the same pattern of words to show that two or more ideas have the same level of importance.
Loose Sentence
A sentence that begins with a main clause that is followed by phrases or clauses that modify the main clause.
Empathy
The ability to understand and share the feelings of another person.
Concise Sentence
Contains only the number of words necessary to achieve its effect or to make its point.
Coordinating conjunctions
Words such as 'and' or 'or' which are used to join parallel structures.
