1.Frequency
Depending air quality, filter need to be changed semi annually quarterly or even more frequently
Extend equipment life reduces operate costs, downtime, and troubleshooting expenses
1.Safety
1.Before proceeding ensure the AHU safely accessible and powered off
2.Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves and masks especially if the filters are heavily soiled
2.Assessment
1.Start by assessing the condition of the current filters
2.Check sign of dirt, dust, debris buildup or damage
3.Evulate if the filter are due for replacement based on the manufactuer recommendation or any local regulations
3.Filter Selection
Choose replacement filters that match the specification of the existing filters consider factor such as filter size, filtration efficiency and airflow capacity
Higher MERV rating indicate better filitration but may also lead to increased energy consumption due to higher resistance
4.Filter Removal
Remove the access panel or door covering the filter compartment of the AHU
Carefully extract the old filter taking note of their orientation and placement
5.Cleaning
If the refusable filters are being used, clean them according to the manufacturer instructions
Involve vacuuming or washing the filters to remove acumulated dirt and debris
6.Installation

Securely close the access panel or door making sure it tightly sealed to prevent air leakage
8.Testing
After replacing the filters, turn on the AHU and monitor its operation
Check for any unusual noises, vibration, or change it airflow
Assess the indoor air quality to ensure it meet the desired standards
9.Schedule Regular Maintenance
Implement a maintenance schedule for inspecting and replacing filters at appropriate intervals
Help issue related to poor air quality and HVAC system ineffciency
10.Documentation
Keep detailed record of filter replacements, including dates, filter types, and any obsevation made during the process
This information can be vaulable for tracking maintenance history and identifying any recurring issues
