An epithelial type functional in absorption and secretion (mucus, enzymes, etc); may be ciliated to move mucus or reproductive cells across epithelial surface.

Classified as simple
An epithelial type functional in secretion (ie mucus) and movement of mucus across surface if ciliated.

Stratified squamous
An epithelial type functional in protection.

Stratified cuboidal
An epithelial type functional in protection.

Stratified columnar
An epithelial type functional in protection & secretion.
