Learning
The acquisition of knowledge or skills through study, experience, or being taught.
Learning (Hilgard & Bower, 1975)
A relatively permanent change in behavior or behavior potential which occurs as a result of prior experience.
Contiguity
Things that occur close together get linked in the mind.
Frequency
The more often things are linked, the more powerful the association.
Similarity
The more things are similar, the more a thought of one of those things will trigger the thought of the other thing.
Contrast
Seeing or recalling something may trigger the recollection of something completely opposite.
Watson
Earliest known Behaviorist who coined the term in his paper 'Psychology as the Behaviorist Views It'.
Habituation
Decline in the tendency to respond to stimuli that have become familiar due to repeated exposure.
Adaptation
Fitting in with the environment.
