Common Archetypes in Hero's Journey

Hero

• Main Character

• Tries to do the right thing

• One who rises to the challenge to overcome obstacles and save their community.

Shadow

The antagonist or dark force that opposes the hero, often representing unacknowledged aspects of the hero's own personality. 

Ally

• Friends and companions who support the hero with their unique skills and perspectives.

Mentor

• A wise teacher or guide who provides training, advice, and encouragement to the hero

Shapeshifter

• Characters with shifting loyalties, often of the opposite sex, who can be allies or enemies.

Trickster

• One who has malicious intentions, who wishes harm on society

• They play pranks often

Threshold Guardian

• Characters or forces that guard the gateway to the new world, testing the hero's commitment and character.
