17th century
In this century, the birth of the plumbing profession in the Philippines occurred, marked by the establishment of early sanitation systems and regulations.
Walled city
known as Intramuros, which featured advanced plumbing and sanitation practices, established by the spaniards as a model community.
20th century
Plumbing significantly improved in this century upon the arrival of the American soldiers, engineers, Thomasite teachers, doctors and evangelists. Health and hygiene became a priority when epidemics engulfed in the Philippines.

The Board of Examiners for master plumbers and NAMPAP preprared a curriculum for Plumbing Engineering. Plumbing Engineering was approved by DepEd.

1972 (Pre-martial law)
RA 6541 (Building Code of the Philippines) was passed with the ““National Plumbing Code of 1959” as referral code.

In this year, NAMPAP created a Plumbing Code Committee to amend/revise the National Plumbing Code.
1996
NAMPAP President, JAIME M. CABASE, spearheaded the updating of the REVISED NATIONAL PLUMBING CODE.
1999
NAMPAP created a Plumbing Code Review Committee to go over the work of the Plumbing Code Committee.
October 1999
NAMPAP Submitted the draft code to the Board of Master Plumbers (BOMP) Chaired by Engr. FORTUNATO H. AMOSCO.
