Professionalism
Manner of conducting tasks with commitment, enthusiasm, personal integrity and respect.
Code of Ethics
Basic morals, principles, and values such as honesty, transparency, and care for the environment.
Code of Conduct
Specific behaviors expected from employees, including image, communication, actions, working environment, and respect.
Ethics
Human values that describe how one should live, distinguishing between right and wrong.
Moral Absolutism
Ethical perspective that there is only one ethical solution to any problem.
Moral Relativism
Ethical perspective that ethical solution depends on the situation and who is involved.
Business Ethics
Management policies and employee actions that adhere to ethical standards and guidelines, such as those in the King Code and New Companies Act.
Financial Misconduct
Dishonest or illegal financial activities, such as cheque fraud.
Misrepresentation
Providing false information to staff or other stakeholders.
Stealing
Taking something that does not belong to you (money, information, time).
Virtue Based Theory
Judging character to determine if an action is ethical.
Deontology
Upholding obligations towards others and society to ensure ethical actions.
Ethical behavior
Honest and integral actions in an acceptable manner.
Professional behaviour
Ethical actions enhanced by current job knowledge, lifelong learning, good judgement, reliability, accountability, and appropriate behavior.
Code of Ethics
Principles a business considers important when making decisions, such as honesty, respect, obeying the law and accountability.
