Connotation
The idea or feeling that a word invokes beyond its literal meaning.
Denotation
The dictionary definition of a word.
Imagery
A word or series of words that evokes one or more of the five senses.
Inciting Incident
An event or action that sets the story in motion.
Motif
A distinctive feature or dominant idea in a literary composition.
Irony
Using language that signifies the opposite of what is meant.
Syntax
The arrangement of words and phrases to create well-formed sentences.
Social Marginalization
The marginalization of individuals or groups based on social factors.
Ambiguity
The quality of being open to more than one interpretation; vagueness.
Pulitzer Prize
An award for achievements in newspaper, magazine and online journalism, literature, and musical composition.
Stanza
A grouped set of lines within a poem, usually set off from others by a blank line.
Cultural Alienation
Experiencing disconnection from one's cultural identity.

Relating to the sense of touch.
