Transmission Line
A specialized cable or other structure designed to conduct electromagnetic waves.
Load Impedance (ZL)
The impedance at which the transmission line is terminated, affecting reflections and input impedance.
Reflection Coefficient (Γ)
A measure of how much of a wave is reflected at an impedance discontinuity.
Input Impedance (Zin)
The impedance seen by a source at the input of a transmission line.
Phase Constant (β)
A measure of the phase change per unit length of a transmission line.
Electric Length
The physical length of a transmission line expressed in terms of wavelengths at a given frequency.
Voltage Source (Vg)
A device that provides a potential difference to drive current through a circuit.
Internal Impedance (Zg)
The impedance within a voltage source that affects how much current can flow when connected to a load.
Wave Propagation
The transmission of waves through a medium or space.
Lossless Transmission Line
A transmission line that does not dissipate power as heat, ideal for theoretical calculations.
