Omnipotent
All-powerful; possessing unlimited power and able to accomplish anything in accordance with God’s will.
Omniscient
All-knowing; having complete and perfect knowledge of everything, past, present, and future.
Omnipresent
All-present; existing everywhere at the same time.
Eternal
Enduring forever; without beginning or end.
Trinity
The Christian belief that Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three distinct Persons sharing one divine essence.
Creation
The act by which God brought the universe into existence out of nothing.
Pentateuch
The first five books of the Bible—Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy—traditionally attributed to Moses.
Toledoth
Hebrew term meaning “generations”; headings in Genesis that introduce family histories or origins.
Elohim
A plural Hebrew name for God that intensifies His supremacy—“God of gods.”
Jehovah Bore
“The Lord Creator”; a name highlighting God as the Maker of all things (Isaiah 40:28).
El Shaddai
“God Almighty”; the Most Powerful One who is sufficient and able to bless and protect (Genesis 17:1).
Jehovah M’Kaddesh
“The Lord Who Sanctifies”; God who sets His people apart as holy (Exodus 31:13).
Jehovah Tsidkenu
“The Lord Our Righteousness”; the name that points to God as the source of our right standing (Jeremiah 23:6).
El Olam
“Everlasting God”; the One who exists from eternity past to eternity future (Psalm 90:2).
Sabbath
The seventh day, blessed and set apart by God as a day of rest from labor (Genesis 2:3).
Sanctify
To set apart as holy, dedicate, or consecrate for God’s special use.
Covenant
A formal, binding agreement establishing a relationship with specified promises and obligations—often between God and humans.
Redemption
Literally “buying back”; God’s act of liberating people from sin, death, or bondage through Christ’s sacrifice.
Proto-evangelium
“First gospel”; the promise in Genesis 3:15 that the woman’s seed would crush the serpent, foretelling Christ’s victory over Satan.
Impute
To credit or ascribe something—such as righteousness or sin—to a person’s account.
Mercy
God’s kindly disposition toward the miserable and afflicted, joined with a desire to relieve them.
