ELASTIC CARTILAGE
It is not found in skeletal system, it is found in place that need to stretch or change shape then return.
HYALINE CARTILAGE
This serves as lubricant. It is found at the end of the bones where they form joints.
FIBROCARTILAGE
It carries heavy loads. this is found between vertebrae, within the knees and the pubic symphysis.
SPONGEY BONES
it contains red bone marrow.
RED BONE MARROW
it generates blood cells
MEDULLARY CAVITY
this contains the yellow bone marrow
OSTEOBLAST
it is bone forming cell.
OSTEOCLAST
it destroys the cell.

it is made of hyaline cartilage. found at the ends of long bones where joints form.

it is cube like shape, this provides stability and support as well as some limited motions.
FLAT BONES
typically thin but also often curved, they have primary function of protection of internal organs—but also serves as points of attachment for muscles.

this bone tend to have more complex shape

it is a small round bone, it forms within tendons when great deal of pressure or friction is generated regularly over time.

EPIPHYSEAL PLATE (GROWTH PLATE)
this is found in children. it contains growing cartilage that allows bones to increase in length.
EPIPHYSEAL LINE
a site of remnant of the epiphyseal plate
PERIOSTEUM
the outer surface of the bones. A dense irregular connective tissue lining surface.
ENDOSTEUM
a dense irregular connective tissue lining medullary cavity.
CHONDROBLASTS
they are the cells that are capable of generating cartilage matrix.
ENDOCHONDRAL
the process of building a bone from a cartilage template
OSTEOID
a soft matrix devoid of materials, which hardens as calcium and other minerals are deposited on it.
RESERVE ZONE
the region closes to the epiphyseal end and contains chondrocytes within cartilage matrix.
ZONE OF MATURE CARTILAGE
they are older and longer than this in the proliferative zone
ZONE OF CALCIFIED MATRIX
they are dead because of the matrix around them has calcified.
