Cell
The cell provides a voltage to the circuit.

Battery
A battery is made up of 2 or more cells and provides the total voltages of all the cells added together

switch (open)
A switch controls the circuit on/off (off position)

switch (closed)
A switch controls the circuit on/off (on position)

wire
A wire carries the charge around the circuit

Ammeter
An Ammeter measures the current and connects to circuit in series

Voltmeter
A voltmeter measures the voltage and connects to a series in parallel (a different loop)

Fixed resistor
A fixed resistor provides a base of resistance onto a circuit

Thermistor
A thermistor provides resistance that can change based on temperature

Variable resistor
A variable resistor provides resistance that can be changed with a slider

Light dependent resistor (LDR)
A light dependent resistor (LDR) provides resistance that changes based on light

Fuse
A fuse is a safety precaution that has thin wire which melts if current is too high turning off the circuit

Diode
A diode only allows current to pass through in one direction

Lamp/bulb
A lamp/bulb lights up using electrical energy

Light emitting diode (LED)
A light emitting diode (LED) lights up using electrical energy but is also a diode (flashcard 13)
