neutrophilis (granulocyte)
MOST ABUNDANT LEUKOCYTE
light, lavender colored cytoplasmic granules
multi-lobed nucleus can be seen easily (polymorphonuclear leukocytes)

eosinophils (granulocyte)
orange-red cytoplasmic granules
bluish-colored bi-lobed nucleus can be seen

basophils (granulocyte)
RAREST LEUKOCYTE
very dark
dark blue cytoplasmic granules
nucleus is NOT always visible

lymphocytes (agranulocyte)
LARGE leukocyte that differentiate into macrophages
large blue-purple nucleus and surrounded by a pale blue cytoplasm

monocytes (agranulocyte)
2nd MOST ABUNDANT LEUKOCYTE
mature into T and B cells
TWICE the size of erthrocytes
blue-purple nucleus has an indentation giving it a “horseshoe” like appearance
