Where do you put DOPs and IOPs?
Before the only conjugated verb in the sentence
If there are two verbs, then they go before the first verb
They can only attach to infinitives and present participles (escribiendo —> escribiéndoles) (voy a prestárle)
Don’t forget to add accents when necessary
What order to you put DOPs and IOPs in?
IOP first, DOP second (ID)
me las, te la, nos lo, etc.
but they cannot be separated! And they follow the same placement rules as single object pronouns, so they will both either precede the first verb or attach to the second.
What do you do when a third person IOP (le, les) precedes a third person DOP (lo, la, etc.)?
Change the IOP to “se!”
le/les lo —> se lo
se la
se los
se las
Translate “Se lo doy” in English word for word
to him it I give
se = to him/her
lo = it
