Mental Health
A state defined as emotional and psychological balance where an individual interacts with others, handles ordinary stress, and maintains a realistic perception of surroundings.
Social Determinants of Health
Key structural factors influencing overall well-being, identified as Education, Health Care Access & Quality (including money for insurance), Neighborhood & Built Environment, Social & Community Content/Stigma, and Economic Stability.
Recovery
The single most important primary treatment goal in psychiatric care, which aims for the patient to have hope and be self-driven.
Four Dimensions of Recovery
The four key areas that support a patient's recovery process: Health, Home, Purpose, and Community.
Stereotype
A mark on certain people involving negative opinions (such as labeling someone as 'crazy'), which can negatively affect self-perception and lead to individuals not receiving care.
CDC Reported Data
Data sent to the CDC detailing incident reports, types of cases, and prevalence, alongside unrecorded data such as that of homeless populations.
