Patients who are altered but able to follow commands should be carefully monitored while administering

PO, Buccal
Dosage (per maine protocol)
If glucose is <60 mg/dL AND the patient is showing symptoms of hypoglycemia AND the patient can protect their own airway, administer 1 tube (usually 15 G) of glucose. May repeat as needed to effect.
