name this part of the microscope + Function
Iris diaphragm function increases/decreases the light to specimen
If there is too much light what happens?
harder to see specimen
which level of power can we see better details but less image?
higher
What is working distance?
distance between the objective lens and the specimen
List steps on how to properly use microscope 8 steps
Always carry the microscope with one hand on the arm and the other hand under the base.
Wrap the microscope cord and place in a 3×3×3×4 configuration in the cabinets if in E-316 or E-317
Never let electrical cord drop down from the bench top
Never use the high power objectives without immersion oil
Always begin focusing with the scanning objective in place and the stage all the way down
Never adjust the coarse adjustment knob at higher objectives
Only use lens paper and cleaner on the microscope slides, objectives, ocular lenses
What is 100x the white objective lens?
Oil immersion
What is 40x blue objective lens?
High power
What is 10x yellow objective lens?
Low power
What is 5x red objective lens?
Scanning
What is compound microscope?
Instrument that uses 2 or more lenses
