A "zigzag rule" made of light wood strips held together by pins.
TAPE MEASURE
A flexible ribbon used for measuring extensive lengths
TRY SQUARE
A tool for making and measuring 90-degree angles.
COMBINATION SQUARE
A tool that measures angles, determines flatness, and pinpoints the center of a circular bar.
SLIDING BEVEL
A bevel gauge used to set odd angles and test bevel cuts and miters.
STRING LINE
A basic hand tool used to create a straight line between two points.
POWER TOOLS
A tool that runs on electricity to improve productivity on tasks that are difficult to perform with hand tools.
PNEUMATIC POWER TOOLS
Powered by compressed air from an air compressor. Examples include nail guns and impact wrenches.
FIXED GUARD
The most common type of guard, which is permanently attached and can only be removed with significant effort.
INTERLOCKED GUARDS
Guards designed to be removed or opened, allowing access to the hazardous zone.
ADJUSTABLE GUARDS
Guards that can be set according to the user
SELF-ADJUSTING GUARDS
Guards used to push away from the point of operation when material is fed into the machine.
POWER DRILL
Commonly used in do-it-yourself jobs for drilling holes or fastening materials.
HAMMER DRILL
A rotary hammer that works by delivering a series of blows for drilling into masonry or rock.
ELECTRICAL SCREDRIVER
Considered an important power tool for working with wood, concrete, plastic, and metal.
ELECTRIC SANDER
Used to smoothen wood surfaces.
NAIL GUN
A tool that uses compressed air to push nails (pneumatic) into wood or other materials.
AIR COMPRESSOR
A machine used to operate any pneumatic tool.
ELECTRICAL HAZARDS
Dangers from faulty components that can cause shocks, burns, or fires (e.g., exposed wires, faulty PSUs).
PHYSICAL HAZARDS
Risks of cuts, slips, trips, or falls from physical objects (e.g., sharp tools, cluttered spaces).
CHEMICAL HAZARDS
Dangers from exposure to harmful chemicals or fumes (e.g., cleaning solvents, battery acid leaks).
ERGONOMIC HAZARDS
Health risks from poor body posture or repetitive movements (e.g., slouching, improper tool grip).
BIOLOGICAL HAZARDS
Risks from microorganisms or organic materials that can cause allergies or infections (e.g., dust buildup, mold).
