Doublespeak

Giving words less of a negative connotation so it seems reasonable.

ex. renaming rape as the ceremony.

Oligarchy

A government ruled by a small number of people.

ex. Commanders hold all the power in Gilled.

Theocracy

A government where religion is used to govern the state.

Hierarchy

A system where power is in levels with the people at the top having the most.

Effigy

A representation of people to display a symbolic punishment. Often used to publicly shame/fear people.

Archaic

Language that belongs to another time period.

Parley

A conference between 2 parties, usually to discuss terms of peace.

Fraternize

to befriend or associate with someone

Demure

modest or shy.

used to describe the ideal women in HMT

Heretical

something that goes against religious belief or who’s in power.

Palimpsest

A piece of writing that has been erased to make room for newer writing. There are still traces of past writing.

a phone in gilled used to communicate with others
