Integration

Indigenous people removed from their families as children due to laws, policies and practices.

Forced removal

separation of children from families and communities without real consent.

Eugenics:

Belief system: “biologically superior” races should have reproduction controlled by government to improve populations

Assimilation:

policy: Indigenous peoples abandon their cultures and identities and adopt white ways of living.

Absorption

policy objective= merging Aboriginal people into white population so Aboriginal identity disappears
