Epithelial Tissue Functions
Protect underlying structures, act as barriers, permit some substances to pass through, secrete substances, and absorb substances.
Classification of Epithelial Tissues
Includes simple (single layer), stratified (two or more layers), and pseudostratified (appears stratified) epithelium; cell types include squamous (flat), cuboidal, and columnar.
Exocrine vs. Endocrine Glands
Exocrine glands secrete through ducts, whereas endocrine glands release hormones directly into the blood.
Connective Tissue
Distinguished by its extracellular matrix, which encloses, separates, and supports different tissues and organs.
Types of Muscle Tissue
