Why were some of its features unusual?
Domes weren’t common at the time, and it used a Greek technique of pouring concrete, unseen after that time until much more recently; most temples had straight walls unlike the rotunda; there usually weren’t inscriptions on temples and this one was made honouring the original overseer after it was rebuilt
