Traffic Control Devices
Traffic signals, signs, and pavement markings used to provide a smooth, orderly flow of traffic.
Red Light
Indicates to come to a complete stop at the stop line or before entering the intersection.
Right Turn on Red
Allows a right turn at a red light after coming to a complete stop, unless prohibited by signs.
Left Turn on Red
Permitted only from a one-way street onto another one-way street after stopping, unless prohibited by signs.
Red Arrow
Indicates that you must stop if you intend to move in the direction of the arrow.
Flashing Red Light
Requires a complete stop and yielding to oncoming traffic and pedestrians.
Flashing Yellow Light
Indicates to slow down and proceed with caution.
Green Light
Indicates that you may go if the way is clear.
Out of Service Signals
Traffic signals not working require you to treat the intersection as an all-way stop.
Lane Use Signals
Indicators for lanes you can and cannot drive during different hours.
Red X Signal
Prohibits driving in the lane marked with a red X.
Green Arrow Signal
Permits driving in a lane marked with a green arrow.
Flashing Yellow Arrow
Allows a turn in the direction of the arrow if the way is clear.
