evaporation
A process occurring at the surface of a liquid, involving the change of state from a liquid into a vapour at a temperature below the boiling point.
kinetic (particle) theory
A theory which accounts for the bulk properties of the different states of matter in terms of the movement of particles (atoms or molecules) - the theory explains what happens during changes in physical state.
Freezing (Change of state A)
The physical change of state from a liquid to a solid.
Melting (Change of state B)
The physical change of state from a solid to a liquid.
Condensing (Change of state C)
The physical change of state from a gas to a liquid.
Evaporating (Change of state D)
The physical change of state from a liquid to a gas.
