Speed
The rate at which you move or cover distance; differs from agility, which is the ability to change direction quickly.
Agility
The ability to rapidly and efficiently change direction or position, especially on defense.
Reaction time
The interval between the presentation of a stimulus and the initiation of a response.
Stimulus
An event or cue that elicits a response (e.g., deer, child, ball entering the road).
Moderate to vigorous aerobic activity (MVPA)
Aerobic activity that raises the heart rate to a moderate to vigorous level; guidelines: 150–300 minutes per week.
Vigorous aerobic activity
High-intensity aerobic activity; guidelines: 75–150 minutes per week.
Muscular strength
The ability of muscles to exert force; guidelines recommend strengthening exercises twice per week.
Push-ups
A bodyweight exercise that strengthens the chest, shoulders, and arms without using weights.
Pull-ups
A bodyweight exercise that strengthens the back and arms by pulling the body up on a bar.
Sit-ups
A core exercise to strengthen abdominal muscles using body weight.
