Superior side, where blood vessels that deliver blood to/from heart are found

Interventricular sulcus
Superficial groove, separates right and left ventricles on outside of heart
Left atrium
upper chamber on left side, receives OXYGENATED blood from lungs
Left ventricle
Lower left chamber, sends OXYGENATED blood to heart + body, largest part, very muscular, pumps the greatest amount of blood
Right atrium
Upper right chamber, receives DEOXYGENATED blood from body tissues
Right ventricle
Lower right chamber, sends DEOXYGENATED from heart to lungs
Coronary artery
Blood vessels, wrap around outside of heart, supplies cardiac muscle tissue with O2
Left and right auricles
Ear-like flaps, top of left and right atria, increases holding capacity of each atrium, increases moveable blood
Aorta
Carries oxygen-rich blood, left ventricle to body, largest blood vessel. splis into multiple artiries; brachiocephalic artery
Pulmonary valves
carries oxygen-rich blood from right ventricle to lungs
Superior and inferior vena cava
oxygen-rich blood INTO right atrium from the body
Interventricular septum
Muscular wall, separates left and right ventricles, prevents O2 and deO2 from mixing
Bicuspid valve
two flapped valve, between left atrium and ventricle, prevents blood backflow into Left atrium
Tricuspid valve
valve with three flaps, between right atrium and ventricle, prevents back flow to right atrium
Aortic valve
between left ventricle and aorta; prevents backflow to left ventricle
Pulmonary valve
between right ventricle and pulmonary artiries, prevents backflow to right ventricle
Papillary muscles
Line the ventricles of the heart, attach at flaps of bicuspid and tricuspid valves by chordae, regulates blood flow to atria
