Salvation History
The story of Scripture demonstrating that the God who creates is also the God who saves and restores humanity to covenant communion.
Saint Athanasius
The theologian cited in the notes who stated that the self-same Word through whom all things were created is the one who redeemed them.
Number Seven
In Hebrew, this number is connected with the word for oath or covenant, signifying union and the Sabbath rest.
Sabbath Rest
The purpose of the seventh day, which means union with the good rather than simply a cessation of work.

Melchizedek
The king of Salem and priest of God Most High who offers bread and wine, foreshadowing the priesthood of Christ and the Eucharist.
Abraham's Covenant Promise
The final blessing declaring all nations will be blessed through his descendants, given after the sacrifice of Isaac.
Judah
The son of Jacob from whose line the kingship will come and the scepter will never depart.
Joseph
The son of Jacob who was rejected by his brothers and went into Egypt, foreshadowing Jesus by using suffering to save nations through bread.
Passover Lamb
A ritual sacrifice where a lamb is slain and its blood saves Israel, symbolizing Christ as the True Passover Lamb.
Manna
The bread from heaven provided in the wilderness, pointing toward Jesus as the Bread of Life.
Tabernacle
The portable sanctuary furnished like a golden garden where God's shadowy presence dwelt on the mercy seat of the Ark of the Covenant.
Davidic Covenant
The promise in 2 Samuel 7 that David's son will be God's Son and his throne/kingdom will last forever.
Ornan the Jebusite
The owner of the threshing floor where the Temple was built; the site is linked to creation, Adam, and the sacrifice of Isaac.
Great Schism
The division occurring after Solomon's failures, leading to the loss of the ten northern tribes and their scattering among nations.
Prophetic Restoration
The promises made by Jeremiah and Ezekiel for a New Covenant written on the heart and a new spirit.
Fullness of Time
The period when history was prepared for Christ through Roman roads, Greek philosophy, and Israel's recognized need.
Three Missing Realities
The conditions when Christ arrived: there was no king on David's throne, Israelites were slaves, and the presence of God was absent from the Temple.
True Gardener
A title for Jesus based on Mary Magdalene's mistake, signifying He is the one who sowed nature and harvests grace.
Harrowing of Hell
The event where Christ's soul descended to the dead as a liberator to defeat Satan and lead captives free.
New Jerusalem
The vision in Revelation of the city descending like a bride, representing Eden restored and God dwelling with humanity forever.
