Moral Development
Theory by Lawrence Kohlberg wherein it explains how peoples sense of morality evolve
Pre=conventional
This level focuses on obedience and self-interest
Obedience and punishment
This is a stage wherein Right and wrong are determined by avoiding punishment by parents
Individualism and exchange
This is a stage where morality is based on persona needs or beliefs (self interest)
Conventional Level
This level focuses on conformity and social order
Good interpersonal relationships
This stage demonstrates that behavior is judged by intention and social approval
Maintaining Social Order
This stage is where you obey laws and respect authority to maintain order
Post-conventional
This is the level that not everyone reaches it. It mainly focuses on Abstract reasoning and universal ethical principles
Social Contract and individual rights
This is a stage where laws are important but should be changed if they dont promote justice
Universal principles
This is the stage where morality is based on internal principles of justice, even if it means breaking the law
