Circle
A round plane figure whose boundary consists of points equidistant from a fixed center point.

Center
The fixed point from which all points on a circle are equidistant.

Radius
A line segment from the center of the circle to any point on its circumference.

Diameter
A line segment that passes through the center of the circle and has its endpoints on the circle.

Chord
A line segment whose endpoints lie on the circle.

Arc measure
The measure in degrees of an arc's central angle.

Arc
A portion of the circumference of a circle.

Arc length
The distance along the arc between two points on the circle.
Minor arc
An arc that is smaller than a semicircle.

Major arc
An arc that is larger than a semicircle.

Semicircle
An arc that represents half of a circle.

Tangent
A line that touches the circle at exactly one point.

Point of tangency
The point at which a tangent line touches the circle.

Central angle
An angle whose vertex is the center of the circle and whose sides are radii.

Inscribed angle
An angle formed by two chords in a circle which have a common endpoint.

Sector
The region enclosed by two radii and the arc between them.

Concentric circles
Circles that share the same center but have different radii.

Congruent circles
Circles that have the same radius.

Circumscribed
A circle that is drawn around a polygon such that all vertices of the polygon lie on the circle.

Cyclic quadrilateral
A quadrilateral whose vertices all lie on a single circle.

Secant
A line that intersects a circle at two points.

Circumference
The distance around the circle, calculated as C = 2πr, where r is the radius.
