Why do plants need water?
Plants need water for photosynthesis, transport of minerals, support (keeping cells turgid), and cooling.
What is the process of water absorption in plants?
Water is absorbed by root hair cells through osmosis.
What are xylem vessels?
Xylem are tube-like structures that carry water from roots to stems and leaves.
What is transpiration?
Transpiration is the loss of water vapor from leaves, occurring through stomata.
What happens during wilting in plants?
Wilting occurs when plant cells lose water, causing them to become flaccid and droop.
What is excretion in humans?
Excretion is the removal of waste substances from the body, including carbon dioxide, urea, and excess water.
How is urea produced?
Urea is produced when the liver converts excess amino acids from protein breakdown.
What are the main parts of the excretory system?
The main parts are kidneys (filter blood), ureters (carry urine to bladder), bladder (stores urine), and urethra (releases urine).
What is the definition of osmosis?
Osmosis is the movement of water from high to low concentration.
What does the renal system refer to?
The renal system is another term for the excretory system.
