How did the Korean War affect Japan?
The Japanese were a major beneficiary of the Korean War as it was a stimulus for post-ww2 recovery in Japan. In July 1950, the US needed 11,000 trucks from the Toyota company.
America spent $3 billion (1954) on Japan in defence spending.

Dictators ruled over both halves of the Korean peninsular. In June 1953 the adversaries signed an armistice and agreed to draw a new boundary near the 38th parallel that gave South Korea 13,000 extra square miles of territory and it created a 'demilitarised zone'. South Korea would develop a capitalist economy based on advanced technology.
