what is the working memory model

made by Baddeley & Hitch, suggests that STM isn’t unitary, can complete two tasks at once, made up of 4 components

what 4 components is the WMM made up of

• AP is linked to speech production, use to prepare sounds and speech

• PAS is linked to speech perception, receives auditory information and remembers it

• limited capacity of 3-4 objects

• codes information visually

• can be divided into the Inner Scribe and Visual Cache

• IS handles spatial relationships

• VC stores material about form and colour
