Concerntration
A quantitative measure of the amount of solute dissolved in a given volume of solution.
Formula of concentration
C=n/V or C=m/MV
Percentage composition
The percentage by mass of each element contained within a chemical compound.
Formula for percentage composition
Element atomic mass ×Element no of atoms/ compound formula mass X 100
Empirical formula
The simplest chemical formula showing the lowest whole-number ratio of atoms of each element in a compound.
Molecular formula
A chemical formula that indicates the actual total number of atoms of each element present in a molecule of a compound.
Volume at STP
The molar volume occupied by one mole of any gas at standard temperature and pressure, equal to 22.4dm3.
Water crystallisation
Water molecules chemically bound within the crystalline structure of a hydrated salt.
Stoichiometry
The quantitative relationship between amounts of reactants and products in a balanced chemical reaction.
Percentage yield
The ratio of actual yield to theoretical yield expressed as a percentage: Percentage yield=Theoretical yieldActual yield×100%.

Vectors are physical quantities possessing both magnitude and direction, while scalars are physical quantities defined by magnitude only.
