atelectasis

collapsed shrunken section of alveoli or the entire lung

pleural effusion

collection of excess fluid in the intrapleural space, settles at the base of the lungs

pneumothorax

free air in the pleural space causees partial of complete lung collapse. Occurs bc of rupture in the lung wall (spontaneous) or leak in chest wall (traumatic).
