Disrupted thought processing in ventral striatum (negative symptoms) and temporal/cingulate gyri (positive symptoms).
Metarepresentation dysfunction
Disruption of ability to reflect on own thoughts and behaviour leads to thinking that own actions and thoughts are being carried out by someone else.
Central Control dysfunction
Having derailment of thoughts because a word triggers associations and the person CANNOT SUPPRESS automatic thoughts.

Schizophrenic participants had a larger standard deviation, meaning their results were more spread out and further away from the mean.

Participants came up with their own examples. Participants then asked to recall whether or not a word from one category was from their list or the researchers list.
Found that Sz patients who had hallucinations performed worse, then Sz without hallucinations and non Sz patients did best.
