Acts on Beta- Receptors to cause bronchodilation and prevents further mucous production in the bronchioles
Indications
1) Bronchospasm

1) Pulmonary Edema

Onset: Rapid
Peak: 30 Minutes
Duration: 5 hours
Side Effects
Tachycardia, Anxiety, Tremors
ipratropium bromide: dry mouth, throat or nasal irritation, headache, nausea, and an unpleasant taste
albuterol: shakiness (tremors), nervousness, rapid or pounding heartbeat, and throat irritation
Precautions
Patients with known fluid issues (CHF or CKD), patients with pneumonia
Routes
MDI, Nebulizer
Dosage (per maine protocol)
> 1 year old, 0.5 mg Ipratropium Bromide/ 2.5 mg Albuterol in 3 ml normal saline
