Officially endedd the 30 years war in germany in 1648, redraws national borders in HRE expands “whose realm, his religion”

Jesuits

Society of Jesus founded by Ignatius of Loyola in spain. A group was formed on absolute obedience to the papacy, created schools and universities, and missions to reform Europe.

Teresa of Avila

1500’s Carmelite Nun at age of 14, starts to have mystical visions and wrote about them and started monastic reforms, barefoot carmelites (vow of poverty)
