Stoichiometric Calculations
The calculation of reacting masses, determination of limiting reactants, and calculation of solution volumes and concentrations.
Equivalence Point
The point in a titration where the two reactants have reacted in stoichiometric proportions.
Titration
A laboratory technique used to determine the unknown concentration or volume of a solution (titrand/analyte) by reacting it with a solution of known concentration (titrant).
Titrand/Analyte
The solution with unknown concentration to be determined during Titration.
Buret
A piece of apparatus used in titrations to deliver variable volumes of titrant.
Conical Flask
A flask used to hold the titrand solution during a titration.
Volumetric Pipet
A pipet used to measure and deliver a precise volume of solution.
Pipet Bulb
Used to draw liquids into a volumetric pipet.
