Kinetic Energy
The energy of an object due to its motion.
Potential Energy
The stored energy of an object based on its position or configuration.
First Law of Thermodynamics
The principle stating that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed between different forms.
Second Law of Thermodynamics
States that in a closed system, entropy tends to increase; energy flows from ordered to disordered states.
Entropy
A measure of disorder in a system; indicates how energy is dispersed.
Mechanical Energy
A form of energy associated with the motion and position of an object.
Electromagnetic Energy
Energy that travels in waves and is associated with electric and magnetic fields.
Chemical Energy
The energy stored in the bonds of chemical compounds, released during a chemical reaction.
Electrical Energy
The energy from the motion of charged particles, like electrons.
Units of Force
Expressed as kg·m/s² (newtons), the force acting on an object.
Weight
The force exerted by gravity on an object, dependent on its mass.
Mass
The amount of matter in an object, typically measured in kilograms.
