Tonality
A section - G major with some parts in E minor
B section - remote key of Bb major, creating a tertiary relationship with the A section
Melody
A mixture of conjunct and disjunct movement
Some sections are mainly conjunct with other parts such as the first 4 bars featuring several adjacent leaps
Harmony
A section: G - Am - Bm - C
B section: I-vi-ii-III7 = Bb - Gm - Cm - D7
D7 becomes a pivot chord (V7) for G and so creates a perfect cadence in the following bar.
