Post-Hoc Tests
Statistical tests conducted after ANOVA to find out which specific group means are different.
ANOVA
Analysis of Variance, a statistical method used to compare means of three or more samples.
F-ratio
A statistic calculated during ANOVA that indicates the ratio of variance between group means to the variance within the groups.
Bonferroni Correction
A method to control for Type-I error by adjusting the significance level when multiple comparisons are made.
Tukey HSD Test
A post-hoc test that compares all pairs of means to find significant differences using a conservative approach.
Alpha Level (α)
The predetermined threshold for significance in hypothesis testing, commonly set at 0.05.
Family-wise Error Rate
The probability of making one or more Type-I errors among all the hypotheses when performing multiple comparisons.
Holm Method
A stepwise method for controlling the family-wise error rate that is less conservative than the Bonferroni correction.
False Discovery Rate (FDR)
The expected proportion of false discoveries among the rejected hypotheses, controlled using methods such as the Benjamini-Hochberg procedure.
