identity vs identity confusion

The term that describes the gap between childhood security ad adult autonomy. Where adolescents are able to experiment identities.

identity diffusion

The statues of an individual who have not yet experienced a crisis or made any commitment. undecided about choices and have low interest in searching.

identity foreclosure

The statues that an individual has made a commitment but has not experienced a crisis. Usually follow parents and don’t try anything against

The statues of identity of an individual who are in the midst of a crisis but have no/little commitment

the statues of individuals who have undergone a crisis and have made a commitment.

The theory that individuals at this stage based their identity on the existence or extent of their crisis or commitment. commit to a sense of self

how is juvenile delinquency taken care of?

record is not accurate to the number of illegal acts. community approach, intensive individualized attention, early identification and intervention

What causes juvenile delinquency?

reasons are heredity, identity problems, community influences, family experiences. lower SES and child maltreatment.

depression

This is likely for individuals with high stress, marital conflict, financial issues, rejection, and racial discrimination. More likely for girls to develop due to body image and boys.

How to take care of depression?

Can be helped with cognitive behavior therapy, family therapy, serotonin reuptake inhibitor drugs

suicide

This is due to the immense number of depressive symptoms. This is more likely to be done by girls.

autonomy/independence

this is when adolescents want more independence but creates tensions with parents that don’t want to let go.
